Today, I want to dive deep into a topic that I often ponder and love discussing with others when I get the chance. When it comes to life, motivation, happiness and inspiration, I often turn to the one question that drives me the most:
What is your purpose?
Each day that passes and work shift completed— we usually ask ourselves “what did I get done today?” Without realizing it, we count the tasks we’ve finished, reports completed and emails sent. We compile those into the equation of how we feel about our day, but we fail to stop and see the most important aspect of it all.
Perhaps the more critical question we should be asking ourselves is:
Do my choices and mindset support my larger purpose?

While the completion of our daily activities is essential, are we really stopping to collect our thoughts, reflect on our passions and dive deep into our true goals? Sometimes our days are so hectic that we forget to take a step back and revisit what we’re trying to accomplish in our lives. Today, I want to challenge you to take a moment to ask yourself these questions:
⁃ What makes you happy?
⁃ What are you most passionate about?
⁃ What have you accomplished in the past month that you’re proud of?
⁃ What do you believe is your purpose in life?
⁃ What motivates you?
Perhaps the more pressing question we should be asking ourselves is simply:
Are my actions aligned with my larger purpose?

This may seem like a silly thing to do, but mapping out the answers can truly bring you closer to being fulfilled with your life. Having the self-awareness of what drives you, motivates you and brings you the most happiness can set you up for success.
Taking a moment to pause and reflect on what you’ve accomplished will reinvigorate your work day. Revisiting what your most passionate about will merge your self interests into your work, and maybe even lead you to another job or role. It could even make you realize what doors you’d like to open next in your career.
